RZ2 is now located at www.cghm.8k.com/rz2, as you may have noticed. The change allows for banner-free service! Now keep in mind while browsing the site that most information here was posted before Red Alert 2 came out (well okay, all of it), so it might not all be right. I'll be going in and fixing any mistakes I find within a few days.
Sorry about the lack of updates, but Red Alert 2 is now out! Buy it as soon as possible - you won't be disappointed!
Nothing much is going on in the Red Alert world, and nothing much has gone on, which is why I've waited so long to update. I'll update as soon as anything interesting pops up.
New update on the special units available in RA2: Korea will have the Black Eagle attack bomber, the Germans will have an anti-tank unit, the Iraqis will have a heavy Tesla Tank, the Libyans will have a suicide truck (assuming it will be like the Demo Truck but maybe w/o a nuke), the Cubans have a terrorist that will look like an Allied spy and uses C4 to destroy buildings, and the British will have a sniper. No one knows what the Americans will have. It has already been revealed that the French will have a "big gun." No stealth chopper.
Also, you might have noticed our counter has been stuck on 923 for about a million years. I've tried to fix it, but I might do away with it permanently.
There are going to be more than fifty different units in RA2, each with various strengths and tactics. RA2 will also have over forty different structures, ensuring diverse gameplay.
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have a list of the different multiplayer options:
Unholy Alliance - Two MCVs, one Allied, one Soviet, redefines "combined" forces.
Land War - Only land based units and land based map, big ground war.
Air War - Possibly mountains and stuff divide the enemy so your best bet is air units.
Naval War - Island Hopping campaign all over again.
Meat Grinder - Only very low tech units, a slaughter fest!
Still not sure when the release date will be, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. New screenshots and a new interview.
Credit unloading in RA2 will be quick like in the original Red Alert and not slow like in TS. Other than that, nothing much has happened in the past few days, but check back later for more updates.
The nine factions in RA2 will be the Koreans, Americans, Russians, French, Libyans, Cubans, British, Germans and last but not least, the Iraqis. Each will have special units. For example, Cuba will have a special helicopter, the British will have a sniper, and the French will have a "huge defensive gun." That sounds like artillery to me. One side is known to have a "Tank Buster," which might be a plane like the A-10 Warthog. The transport can carry six infantry units, or armored units based on size. One transport can only carry one MCV because of its size.
